Marine renewables set to benefit from sound advice!
Xi’s scientists have pioneered technology that predicts the impact that marine renewable projects have on fish and sea mammals.
We believe this ground-breaking acoustic modelling expertise will provide the most authoritative analysis available to help assess the effect that off-shore wind farms or wave and tidal power arrays have on marine life.
Working closely with project partners Xi provide a comprehensive view of the overall power generating structure and the interactions between each of its components. This in turn allows us to address potential fatigue concerns and advise upon design modifications at the earliest stage. This delivers the most valuable engineering output with minimal design costs. Marine vibration solutions require not just a depth of specialist knowledge, but also the ability to provide dynamic analysis and modelling.
In Frankfurt for the EWEA
Xi headed to Frankfurt in November to attend the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) offshore wind conference, and was proudly one of the many companies joining the Scottish Development International Group (SDI).
The SDI stand was visited frequently over the course of the 3 day event, where Managing Director Mark-Paul Buckingham was on hand to answer any questions about reducing piling noise & acoustic propagation modelling.
Between networking lunches, talks and the (hugely popular) whisky tasting, Xi forged many new relationships and connections, which will no doubt be fruitful for the company in the future.
