About the role

This is a client facing role where you will identify new potential projects partners  and nurture our existing client relationships. You will get the opportunity to assist our clients and prospective clients in shaping their technical roadmap to take advantage of Xi’s cutting-edge engineering capabilities. You will work alongside our amazing engineers (and wider team) to develop next level technical solutions. Obviously we use all the online meeting tools but there is no substitute for meeting people in full 3D. As such there will be an element of travel to go and truly engage with people.  Travel is mostly in the UK but we work across the globe so have a passport ready.

Your enthusiasm and input will help to grow the company by seeking out new projects and supporting and inspiring the  team to carry out their own sales development tasks You will help ensure  customer satisfaction remains sky high by engaging them following project completion.

You will report direct to the board and be able to effect change within our organization.

About you

You are all the things already described above, but fundamentally both commercially and technically minded. You will love people and have excellent interpersonal skills and will never let up pursuing new contacts (when you know it will be beneficial to them), maintain existing relationships and revive dormant connections.  You will diligently document these interactions (back to the structured/ process bit) so that we keep all clients both future and past happy.

Systems and support

Using Salesforce as your primary tool), you will monitor and coordinate  our ‘happy client sales  process’ and activities across the team. We always strive to improve, and have in-house efficiency ninja’s improving everything we do. You will be expected to build on existing systems, shape and develop improved reports, systems and processes (anything that helps make your role and the team more efficient). You will receive support from the entire Xi team, however the expectation is that the right candidate will bring their proven track record in business development and experience of technology.

Salaries will be competitive and based on experience, we are looking for the right person who will enjoy the role, that may be someone enthusiastic and early in their career candidate or  who wants to share their hard won know how. For this reason we are explicitly not specifying a salary range as we genuinely want the right person.   • New sales, Lead generation & sources for new business
    • Promoting and making first potential client contacts & qualification of leads
    • Networking/events/conferences and coordinating follow up across Xi
    • Market research for specific target sectors/industries as directed by the Board
    • Coordinate with marketing function where appropriate, assist with campaigns
    • Monitor tender opportunities
  • Existing sales, proposal development, lead qualification and follow up
    • Work with technical team to draft, commercially challenge, and review proposals
    • Assist proposal owners to plan and manage opportunities with a view to closing sales
    • Manage and accurately document proposals, communications and plan next steps
    • Liaise with technical team for resource allocation and technical requirements
  • Account & client-management, existing client outreach
    • Create and monitor client plans
    • Schedule regular client catch ups
    • Post project reviews
  • Sales function & systems: Coordinate and monitor Sales Tasks across Xi
    • Ensure accurate data entry and process flow through Salesforce
    • Update and interpret sales reports for task allocation and financial forecasting
    • Produce accurate and up to date sales pipeline weekly: Review and monitor pipeline process, progress of leads, sales meetings and proposals
    • Prepare and review proposals
    • Working with Xi team to ensure right individuals are allocated to potential clients
    • Manage sales to technical team handover: enter project elements into systems, assist with project scheduling and document interactions up to project kick off
    • Internal meetings with engineers to manage pipeline progression
Skills & Experience
  • A Passion for Technology
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Process Driven: CRM (Salesforce) systems and reporting
  • Commercial experience, proposal drafting, costing calculations
  • Understanding of Project Management and resource allocation
  • Analytical and research skills & Trend Analysis
  • The normal stuff : Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint in particular)
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
