The Challenge

Product development often reveals unexpected technical challenges. Left unresolved, these can extend development time, compromise performance and, in the worst cases, lead to expensive and reputation damaging product recalls after launch.

In this project, a new compressor design brought together several novel concepts. The product was approaching a critical development milestone, but the team could see a number of potential pitfalls emerging around noise and vibration behaviour. Internal efforts to resolve the issues risked absorbing significant engineering time and still leaving some risks unaddressed.
